Jammu and Kashmir: Jaish-e-Mohammed commander killed in Kupwara's Lolab area
The Indian Army has notched up a big success in Jammu and Kashmir with the killing of a Jaish-e-Mohammed commander in the Lolab Valley of the restive Kupwara District.
Following the Keran incursions, the Samba attack and the repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan - the latest of which killed an Indian Army Lance Naik - the Army has been on high alert in the region.
Following a tip-off, the police alongwith 18 RR and 28 RR launched a joint operation after receiving specific information regarding the presence of militants in Lalpora.
The encounter happened near Anderbough Diver in which a foreign mercenary Ateek -ur -Rehman was killed.
The area has been cordoned off as the operation is still on.
Ateek ur Rehman alias Khan Baba was a JeM zonal commander and a one AK 47 was recovered from him.
